Day 10 - Carbohydrates (C) that will turbo fuel Day 10...... already!  Let's put some focus on your Nutrition - I'm sure it's something many of you have set goals around.  Today's focus is Carbohydrates.  Here are some examples of foods in this group: WHOLE GRAINS:  will make you feel full longer, provide more nutrients (good source of potassium & magnesium) and probably fiber (read your label). Sources:  Whole wheat or whole grain bread, pitas, tortillas, rolls, crackers, muffins, waffles, pancakes.  Barley, brown rice, wild rice, quinoa, oatmeal. VEGETABLES:  Wrap it, steam it, stir fry it!  Also, put in soups or salads. Sources:  Green leafy (kale, spinach, arugula, escarole, romaine, broccoli), tomatoes, red & green peppers, sweet potatoes, artichokes, brussels sprouts, eggplant, beets, green beans, zucchini, cabbage, asparagus. FRUIT:  Dice it, cube it, skewer it, mix it.  Also, great in cereal, yogurt, or cottage cheese. Day 9: On the road to being Fit!

How does it feel to be making some headway?!  Pretty exciting, isn't it?  If you're new to this relax, it's all happening.  Here a few things to think about as you contemplate your fitness program, nutrition and overall goals for this week.... Stay fresh. Keep your vision in front of you and make your goals come alive each time you say them.  Breathe life into how you will feel and look when you accomplish a goal.  Believe in yourself and your ability to be FIT.  Be specific and you will be amazed at the person who emerges at the end of the month! Keep a positive mindset. Day 7: Get your fitness team lined up

Accountability.  It's a strong word!  Why go it alone when you can have someone to check in with and help keep you motivated.  I won't tell you this is 'quick' or 'easy'.  What I will tell you is that a Healthy Lifestyle works!  One of the main reasons my clients are so committed to their fitness program is accountability.  We all have days when we don't feel like working out.  When you have someone to show up with, it makes all the difference, and you show up and bring your best game. If you have weight loss as your main goal, enlist the buddy system.  Find a friend - old or new - to stay in touch with throughout your program.  Go over plans to get your food organized, share feelings about a 'new you', or figure out what you're going to do with your old clothes!  If you are getting into the gym for the first time, break yourself...

DROP 2 SIZES!

Have you had enough of trying to squeeze into jeans 2 sizes too small for you?  Before you drive yourself really crazy, how about a shift in perception?  Focus on  being healthy. Take the pressure of 'skinny' and 'perfection' out of the equation.  You'll begin to accomplish a lot more.  You will find ways to fit in another trip to the gym, or hiking and biking.  As you change your perspective towards your health, results will flow, easily and effortlessly in many areas of your life.
