Beat The Holiday Blues

Beat The Holiday Blues

Beat The Holiday Blues “The Holiday Blues” is a condition that begins around the Thanksgiving holiday, causing stress and anxiety throughout the winter and until after New Year’s. Even for people who don't regularly suffer from depression or anxiety, the idea of entering a crowded room and chatting up co-workers or strangers at a party, exchanging gifts with friends or colleagues, traveling from home, or attending large family gatherings are all triggers. The National Alliance on Mental Illness reports that over 40 million people, 18 yrs old and up, suffer from anxiety or depression. During the holidays, the numbers go up, and include people who aren't normally affected. As a trained medical intuitive, coach and former fitness trainer, it's a subject I'm very familiar with. Many of my clients experience an increase of old aches, pains and headaches. Obligations to work and house parties cause anxiety as they feel extra stress, which then turns quickly into shut-down. They begin to decline invitations or...

Breathe In Life

Breathe In Life

Breathe In Life Spiro: the root for both breath and spirit - to inspire - fill the body with breath, and the spirit with awareness. The first and last thing you do in physical form is breathe. How do you breathe - do you breathe primarily through the nose, mouth, upper chest, mid chest or diaphragm? Think about the different areas of your body your breath affects...... your brain, your heart, your nervous system. When you are able to breathe evenly, you support your body, your mind and spirit, allowing them to be joyous and calm. Holding back your breath is unhealthy! Do you find yourself not breathing some times. Sounds funny, but 73% people in a recent study weren't even aware that they weren't breathing properly. How deeply do you breathe? Breathe deeply..... regulate your body chemistry  keep your pH, electrolyte balance & blood in flow  reduce anger, anxiety and stress in your mind & body  increase your cognitive, performance &...

Motivation Monday: Are You Hoarding Your Talent

Become a subscriber to Motivation Monday, click here Motivation Monday: Are You Hoarding Your Talent Last weekend I needed some perspective and pulled out my copy of Napoleon Hill's Law of Success.  One of the pages I opened up to was the above quote by Brendan Francis. As I read this quote, I asked myself, "is there anywhere in my life I'm hoarding?" My surface answer?  I am so grateful and blessed for what I do. It comes so naturally and easily, and my client sessions are over the top!  I know that when I am in a session with someone, it's all out, every time..... there isn't any holding back on either end, which makes for enriching, rewarding and productive interaction. When I dug really deep, I found the place I did the most hoarding..... time.  Yup.  I'm a time hoarder.  I allot 'X' amount of hours to everything - working out, socializing, work, free time.  And you know what?  It helps me...
