Unfortunately, too many of us know someone who has cancer.  It may even be you.  When a close friend or relative is diagnosed,  it  is stunning news.  It was quite a blow for me when I  learned my father had cancer.  The good news is that we are making gains in curing this disease.  Every day we are getting stronger meds to cure this disease and people are overcoming great odds to regain their health. International cyclist Lance Armstrong was diagnosed on Oct. 2, 1996.  His organization, LIVESTRONG, has helped millions of people, and on this day, he celebrates his life with millions of cancer survivors.
