Lose 10lbs, take a load off your Heart

Lose 10lbs, take a load off your Heart Are you being realistic about your weight loss?  Are you being honest with yourself about your weight loss?  Do you say you only have 20lbs to lose and you know it's really more like 40?  The truth can be hard to absorb sometimes. Having a distorted reality can come from several places.  We may be caught in a certain 'story', we may have lost our voice somewhere along the way, we may have adopted someone else's perspective, we may have given up.  It all boils down to truth. Are you living the life you want now?  If not, what are you going to do about it?  It is a challenge to be in the 'in between' space, no doubt.  You know the place where you're challenged by something from the past and haven't moved into your now.  Happens all the time.  You may be wondering, 'how did I get here'.  Don't ponder it too long,...

Day 28: Participate!

Day 28:  Participate! When I was young I participated in sports.  I wasn't the best - for quite a while I was a bench warmer!  What I did bring to my team was heart, readiness, and a desire to have fun.  I made nearly every practice and provided a challenge for starting players. I did play a little in high school and held the same status of bench warmer and practice partner, lol.  Being athletic I tried nearly every sport and did gravitate towards biking, tennis and surfing.  As long as it was fun, I was in! Point is, you can always make a difference in whichever groups you choose to be a part of.  As an adult, I still choose venues and events that are fun.  I also belong to groups that make me better on a personal and professional level.  I belong to several Meetups, LinkedIn groups, Mastermind and Coaching groups.  They make me stronger and put me in a...

Day 27: Own it!

Day 27:  Own it! Here we are on Day 27 - woo hoo!  Did you think you'd make it?  Trust me, it has been a challenge for me to reach my goals too :) What I've found is, there is Power in the very conscious choices I've made.  I feel very supported by writing daily and posting my words.  I appreciate your feedback! Another of my goals is to keep leaning out.  With an ever changing, womanly body, I find my exercise and nutrition to be key components for this goal.  Although my scale weight isn't reflective of my efforts, the way my clothes fit is a good indicator of the progress I'm making.  I have bought a few items in the past couple of months that are already loose - particularly pants. Today I had an opportunity to meet another of my goals to be gaining more visibility and adding content to my business.  I appeared on a segment for a local L.A....

Day 22: Check Your Progress

Day 22:  Check Your Progress You have a couple of weeks under your belt - how's it going?!  Are you keeping up with your exercise, nutrition, journaling, support systems?  Take your time.... as they say 'Rome wasn't built in a day'.  More importantly, focus on what is working for you - the choices you've made to succeed! Remember, this is just the beginning - big things are happening!  It may seem a little slow, maybe even reversed, as your body begins to acclimate to your new, healthy lifestyle.  Just hang out and let it happen - be patient, be kind to yourself, continue to make great choices.  Underneath it all, you are a healthy person.  Focus on that.  The more you bring into the fold, the more you will become the fit, healthy, strong person you long to be. Build on each week, noticing your strengths and what's working for you.  If you feel something isn't working for you, modify it or change...
