"We often add to our pain and suffering by being overly sensitive, over-reacting to minor things and sometimes taking things too personally." Dalai Lama

Taking things too personally can add unnecessary stress to your life.  Sometimes it's hard to avoid, right?  Something may be going wrong in your personal life and then you get on a call with a colleague, sponsor or prospect, and then BAM!, something they say triggers you.  You internalize and react, rather than listen and respond.  Not a good call.

Let's face it, when you aren't a good match for someone else, it's challenging to not let their words affect you.  You may find that happening quite a bit due to your sensitive nature or that you are going through a stressful time in life.

If you find yourself feeling offended by others remarks or actions more often than not, you'll end up limiting yourself.  It's a waste of energy to experience things at the levels that cause you mental or emotional anguish.

When you find yourself being affected to the point of being drained, you know it's time to do something.  You can start with the following:

Improve your confidence
Take some time before responding
Acknowledge your feelings
Get some clarity with writing
Stop your spin
