Jimi was a huge fan of Bob Dylan, who wrote the song All Along The Watchtower. Jimi gave it a new interpretation with a unique sound, which profiled Dylan's lyrics in whole new way. Dylan himself began playing it in Jimi's style.

Having got into trouble after a spot of car crime, in 1961 Hendrix chose a two-year stint in the army over jail
Jimi bought some of his clothes from fashion designer Chris Jagger – the brother of the Rolling Stones’ Mick
At the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, Jimi came on after The Who. Pete Townshend smashed his guitar and threw it into the audience. Hendrix set his on fire.
