At the time, my sister Lisa was going to Boston University, and my father and I would drive up to visit after working a half day at our pharmacy. On the way home he'd take the 'scenic route' - Route 1 - that brought us through the backyards of MA and into RI. A little after we hit Foxborough (where the Pats play), he'd pull over and let me take the wheel into Attleboro, just as we were ready to cross the MA/RI line. It was a fast car - an Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. And, according to my dad, I had a lead foot. It was pretty exciting to drive and I looked forward to it!
