Saint or Sinner?

Do you consider yourself a saint or sinner?   Chances are you have a little of both in you.   It's kind of hard to get by in life without dipping into a few 'good vs evil' moments.  After all, we are human and available for temptation.  Sometimes it's a healthy indulgence... to 'walk on the wild side'.  To explore the dark and light sides of your being.  To dangle your toe in temptation and feel the shadows of doubt and excitement while your angel and devil have a shouting match.  To not let either define you or allow for self judgement is a precarious stance.  It is sometimes in our darkest hours we shine our brightest light.  Walking the edge and skimming the surface of temptation allows a freedom that Rocks your soul.  Keep perspective here..... this is about you exploring your own boundaries of good and evil - nothing outside of yourself.  It's your opportunity to embrace your thoughts, curiosities and...

3 Ways to Rock Your Screamn’ Demons

[easyrotator]erc_61_1353702448[/easyrotator] 3 Ways to Rock Your Screamn' Demons with a little help from Steven Tyler Demon of Screamn' If you've ever heard "Dude Looks Like a Lady", "Back in the Saddle", "Draw the Line", or the classic, "Dream On", you've heard  the edge, rawness and range of Steven Victor Tallarico, A.K.A., Steven Tyler.  His howls, screeches and scats have earned him the nickname, "Demon of Screamn'".  Tyler has said he'd like these words on his tombstone, "Here lies Tyler, the Demon of Screamin', who never woke up from the dream he was dreamin', until one day he drank some magic potion, now all that's left is sweet emotion."  Screamn' Demons A short while ago, I was interviewed by Terry Wildemann on Coffee With Terry (listen below).  Terry asked me where my term "Screamn' Demons" came from.  I told her while I was researching Steven for my weekly series, Rock Star Monday, I came across his nickname and gave it a spin.  At one point...

16 & Own’n it!

I just took  a walk to Whole Foods for breakfast.  It was nice to cruise through the market at 7:20A without the pre-holiday market madness.  My plate was healthily filled with egg whites, strawberries, spinach & mushrooms and a couple of potatoes.  One of my favorite clerks rang me out and we had a moment of pleasantry, taking me back to my upbringing, where I was behind the register wishing customers a 'Happy Thanksgiving'. I sat down to eat and enjoyed every bite, grateful for the 'whole' experience.  It is an exquisitely beautiful morning in L.A., and I enjoyed my walk to and from the market.  I did a lot of walking when I was younger and there was something in the crisp air that was reminiscent of my walks in RI that spurred a walk down memory lane. What came to mind was my longing to see Bruce Springsteen for my birthday - which happened to be my 16th birthday. The...

★ROCK STAR MONDAY★: BILLY IDOL

This week in ★ROCK STAR MONDAY★: BILLY IDOL     William Michael Albert Broad remembered a comment one of his grade school teachers made "William is idle" and turned it into his stage name, Billy Idol.  He was an OK student and tried to live up to his parents expectations in school.  He was drawn to Rock to get out of the path being laid out for him to learn his father's business of selling power tools.  He wanted fun and he wanted glam....... and he wanted out of suburbia.  The punk rock explosion in England gave him just that opportunity. Like last week's RSM artist, Bonnie Raitt, Billy attended college for one year before the lure of music sent him packing.  After one year at Sussex University, Billy left to follow the Sex Pistols.  Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten were perfect role models for Idol's indoctrination to punk.  He joined Siouxsie & The Banshees for a minute while he was gathering playmates for his...
