360 Yourself

 ’True Confessions’, Round 2

All bets are off and I’m looking for a TKO.  That was my approach for the second round of ‘True Confessions’.  You just never know how those punches are gonna land.  I had viewed some art the day before and it was still fresh in my head, so that’s where Round 2 started out.

Have you ever seen a crafted table or piece of art that uses every inch of wood, every scrap, every odd piece?  When an artist uses all kinds of materials, it’s amazing to see how his/her expression is formed.  Hand railings, knobs, wood scraps, molding are all infused in the piece, and it all works.

Are you a work of art?  If you were going to 360 Yourself – go for a full out reconditioning – what pieces would you keep?  Would you know what to discard?  What are the pieces that give you that gutteral laugh, that space of deep knowing and well being.  Where do you get your satisfaction?  The twinkle in your eye?  How do you want to take yourself in? Sit down right now, with pen and paper, and make a list.  First list out all those great qualities you have, then write out all the things you’re sick of – the things that keep you from going all out.

Turning yourself inside out seems daunting in thought.  It’s actually a really interesting process!  As you begin the process of discarding – letting go of all the thoughts, behaviors, feelings that no longer serve you – you’re creating space in your body.  What do you think you’d feel like if you had less clutter inside?!  I’ll tell you, it feels pretty fucking amazing!

You’ve got your list, now get to the nitty gritty.  Be ready to get through at least 1/2 your list before taking a break.  The process is simple.  For each item on your list, positive & negative, do these 4 things:

  • Acknowledge your feeling/circumstance.  It is what it is, so neutralize it.
  • Accept your feeling/circumstance.  It’s OK, shrug it off.
  • Ask yourself, ‘can I let go of _____?’  YES!  When?  NOW!!
  • Let it go!  Say it out loud 4X, ‘I let go of ____’.  Say it one more time, loud and like you mean it :)

You may have to do a little remodeling inside as you get acclimated to your new space.  For starters, just breathe it all in!  Enjoy clarity, enjoy freedom.  Enjoy the openness, the absence of clutter…… the room to ‘roam about the cabin’.

When was the last time you felt true freedom in your body?  Exhileration?  Liberation?   Non judgement.  Whole.  An inner smile.
Capture it – go 360 – and let the new you arise.
