Silence is Golden
My power connection is powered into about 36″ & 32lbs. Our form of communication is mostly silent and relies a lot on being in the moment. The power source is my ‘niece’ Zoey. At 5 1/2, she does not speak verbally, but speaks volumes energetically. Her laugh is confectious, like a cupcake, and it seems she always taps into what I need.
This past week was a bit of an off week for me, and a little rough around the edges. Yesterday, on a quick visit to my friend’s (Zoey’s mom) house, I had a chance to ‘power up’ with my Sproutlet. She took me by the hand, and led me into the house. Once in, she indicated & signed (ASL) what she needed from the fridge and then grabbed the remote to turn on her DVD. Another round of Curious George I figured!
Before she could get settled in her chair, she made a noise to get my attention and pointed towards where I was sitting. We were just sitting down to eat, so I thought she’d like to sit with me and eat. When she hit the floor, she indicated underneath me, the storage for her DVD collection. I found the drawer and pulled them out. She squealed! She went through and picked out her Signing Time dvd.
Although I take her weekly to speech therapy and communicate with her often, it had been a while since Zoey & I watched this together. She was very excited and gave me a hug. She knew when the intro was over and the first sign was coming up, by doing the sign for ‘bird’. Sure enough, first word, ‘bird’. Zoey continued to pre-empt – she knows her shit! She nailed every word coming up, along with it’s sign
As we signed and laughed together, she would put one arm around my shoulder to pull me in for a quick hug and kiss as we advanced through each word.
My lessons………
~ the greatest things come in small packages
~ there is nothing like a friend to brighten your day
~ a hug can always brighten your world
~ life is always good when you have a chance to just be and super connect
~ I know my shit too, I just get caught up with the noise in my head

There is so much love around us, we just need to tune in. It’s great that you found time to re-energize yourself. One way for me is to work in my garden, I love the silence and listening to the sounds of nature.
Thanks for sharing Nancy! What a great way to re-energize – by
digging into the Earth!! I love the smell of dirt & gardening
These days, I go to my friends’ houses to help garden and water ~ Paula
